Rhino Rhenovators Contraband Days Criterium Championship

On Sunday, May 1, 2011 Rhino Racing will be hosting the LAMBRA District Criterium Championship in downtown Lake Charles, LA. The races are co-sponsored by Midsouth Masters. There will be a $3000 prize purse plus primes as well as double series points.

Online registration is open and you can pre-register here: https://www.usacycling.org/myusac/index.php?pagename=registration&eventid=1348&year=2011 until Friday, April 29 at midnight. Race day registration will also be available beginning at 7:00 am on race day up to 30 minutes before the start of each race.

The races are being held in conjunction with the annual Lake Charles Contraband Days Festival. They are going to get plenty of regional advertising and part of the race course is on the Lake Charles Civic Center property where the festival is held so expect there to be lots of spectators. The balcony and steps in front of the Civic Center will be a great place to watch the races.

If you have never been to Contraband Days, it is one of the largest festivals in the state and this is its 54th year. You may be interested in bringing your family to enjoy some of the other events at the festival as well. You can learn more here: http://contrabanddays.com/

One event in particular we recommend is the Tour Lafitte Bicycle Ride on Saturday, April 30. It is the 21st year for this charity ride that attracts approximately 500 hundred participants annually. Details can be found here: http://tourlafitte.com/
